Sport- und Kulturtage 2013 We spent 3 days finding out about what is British this year.

We learned how to plan a trip to London:

→ There are three main airports in London. If you travel to Stansted or Gatwick you should know that you can't take the tube direktly to the city centre.
→ hotels in London are very expensive if you want to stay downtown.
→ There are several ways of sight seeing (bus tours, boat tours or exploring the city via tube and on foot)

We watched a very British movie:

→ James Bond – Casino Royale

We had a very British tea time:

→ We made tuna-mayonaise sandwiches
→ We made clt sandwiches
→ We baked scones.

This is the receipe:
Ingredients:
- 500 g flour
- 6 teaspoons of baking powder
- 100 g butter
- 300 ml milk
- 5 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 pinches of salt
- 2 egg yolks
1. Put the flour and baking powder into the bowl.
2. Cut the butter into small pieces.
3. Put the butter, sugar and salt into the bowl. Mix well.
4. Add the milk bit by bit.
5. Use the kneading hooks of the mixer and mix well.
6. Use your hands and knead the dough until it is smooth.
7. Form a roll. Put it on a plate. Put it into the fridge for 15 minutes.
8. Preheat the oven [200°, fan-assisted – (Umluft)].
9. Cut the roll of dough into 12 slices and form 12 balls.
10. Put baking parchment on a baking tray.
11. Put the dough balls on the baking tray.
12. Beat the egg yolk in the cup and spread it on the dough.
13. Bake for 20 minutes until the scones are light brown.

→ We bought some snacks.
→ We had a picnic in the park.
